Troopers said three teenagers are lucky to be alive after an early-morning, roll over wreck.
Trooper C. Kase in Greene County said just before 2:30 a.m., 19-year-old Elias Castenada was driving near the intersection of NC 903 and Pauls Path Road when the teen went off the road to the right.
Investigators said Castenada over corrected, then flipped his vehicle several times, and it landed in the middle of the road.
Troopers said the driver and his two teenage passengers were all wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor.
Trpr. Kase said Castenada was driving nearly 70 miles per hour in a 45 zone.
All three teens made it out of the vehicle safely.
The driver is facing a charge for careless and reckless driving along with a charge for failure to maintain lane control.
