The Highway Patrol said the teenage victim of a hit and run crash in Johnston County this weekend has now been identified.
First Sergeant Jeff Gordon said 16-year-old Jonathan Barbour of Smithfield was hit and killed on October 20th.
Troopers had previously asked for help identifying the young man.
According to investigators, a 19-year-old driver was on Black Creek Road between Long Branch Road and NC 210 around 9 p.m. Sunday when she hit the teen.
Investigators believe Barbour had been walking with his back to traffic in the eastbound lane and was hit from behind by the driver, Amber Stewart.
The Highway Patrol said Stewart is not facing charges.
