NCDOT Hosting Public Meetings For Rodanthe Bridge Fixes

By  |

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is asking for your input on two of their long-term alternative options for the Rodanthe Bridge.

In August of 2011, Hurricane Irene hit the coast line of North Carolina and breached NC 12 in two different locations: the Rodanthe Bridge and at the Pea Island National Refuge. While short-term fixes were put in place, now the NCDOT is looking to make a decision on a long-term solution.

The NCDOT said they have scheduled a series of public meetings and open houses for people to take a look at two of their plans and give some feedback.

The NCDOT anticipates making a decision in the early part of this year so a contract can be awarded in the late spring or early summer of this year.
