Photographers of all skill levels are being asked to show their best work in capturing the link between eastern North Carolina and the ferries that take people to the coast.
The N.C. Department of Transportation contest got underway this week and continues through Oct. 10.
Ferry Division communication officer Tim Hass says the department expects there will be an unlimited number of photographs that capture the experience of riding the ferry system.
Entries will be divided into three categories: ferries of the coast, onboard adventures and seafaring selfies.
Finalists will be selected by NCDOT. Winners will be chosen by a vote on the N.C. Ferry System Facebook page. Winners in each category will receive a gift package of ferry memorabilia.
