Charlotte Firefighters Hurt Battling Apartment Blaze

Two Charlotte firefighters have been hurt while fighting a fire at an apartment complex.

Firefighters were called to an apartment complex shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday.

Captain Rob Brisley says nearly 80 firefighters worked about an hour to control the fire.

One firefighter was trapped by a partial roof collapse. Another firefighter was injured during ground operations. Both firefighters were treated and released from Charlotte hospitals.

No other injuries were reported.

Brisley says the fire damaged about two dozen units. Damages were estimated at about $500,000.
