The Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety was in Eastern Carolina Tuesday where we had a chance to ask him about security concerns in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Kieran Shanahan said they are evaluating security procedures, especially where large crowds gather.
Shanahan said, "Here in NC ,we're in contact with people from the Emergency Management point of view from a national security point of view, as Homeland Security --we're a designee for the state that we're on top it, we're on heightened alert."
Shanahan went on to say, "The good news is we have systems in place that we practiced. We're prepared and we're vigilant."
