NC DMV Adjusts Schedule To Provide Mobile Service

The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles says it has a solution for providing service to residents of northeastern counties after its mobile unit was parked because of mechanical problems.

A statement from DMV says service will begin on Tuesday to towns on the route served by the mobile unit. A new schedule has been developed, allowing relief units from other locales to deliver services.

DMV Commissioner Nick Tennyson said the mechanical problems with the unit have kept the agency from delivering services up to its expectations. He said the division has adjusted its schedule and reallocated units and personnel to resume service to northeastern North Carolina.

Tennyson also said a study was conducted to determine how changes in technology might lead to a more efficient solution.
