The storm that has brought showers to eastern Carolina is moving away from the area. Morning clouds on Thursday will give way to sunshine by the afternoon. Temperatures will warm significantly on Thursday with highs hitting the lower 80s inland and middle 70s along the beaches. Temperatures will surge into the middle 80s by Friday afternoon under partly sunny skies. A strong cold front will move into the area over the weekend with some showers and possible thunderstorms. Highs will reach the lower 80s on Saturday.
