More Local Help For Sandy Victims

After one trip to New York City to help victims of Hurricane Sandy, a local business owner is getting ready to leave again.

Frank Kivett from Kivett's Happy House Realty in Morehead City is once again collecting supplies for people who are still homeless in New York.

After dropping off a truck full of donations from locals last week, he says those affected still need a lot more. "We've done it for the floods down east, we've done it for the floods in South River, I drove my truck to Mississippi after Katrina so its something we've done for a long time. It's just that we all need to give back. Our whole purpose on this earth is to do good for others."

Kivett will be taking donations until Wednesday night and plans on leaving with a truck load Thursday morning.

Some of the things needed are underwear, cleaning supplies, kids clothes, warm clothes and linens. You can drop these items off at his office on Arendell Street just before the Beaufort bridge.
