Lightning may never strike twice in the same place, but million dollar lottery tickets sure can be sold at the same business.
Just was Gregory Wernli of Jacksonville.
Wernli, who played Powerball in Jacksonville Saturday night, won a million dollars. He bought the ticket at the Wilco Hess at Western Boulevard and Gum Branch Road, the same convenience store where an unclaimed ticket was bought last year. That ticket expired on August 2nd when no one came forward.
Wernli didn't waste any time in claiming his prize. He walked out of the lottery headquarters in Raleigh Monday morning with a check for $680,000.
