Deputies said within hours they were able to capture a man accused of robbing an Onslow County cab driver at knifepoint.
Deputy Jason Daughtry with the Onslow County Sheriff's Office said they got a call around 11 p.m. Saturday night about a cab driver robbed in Maysville.
Investigators said they got to the location and discovered Timothy Smith, 29, was the accused robber.
Deputies said the found the man and the knife he used to rob the cab driver.
Smith was booked into the Onslow County jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
A check of Smith's criminal history through the public offender website shows the man has a criminal rap sheet dating back to 2001 though his time of incarceration did not begin until 2006.
Smith has faced previous charges including assault of a government official, robbery, and felony breaking and entering.
Onslow County court records show Smith is due before a judge on unrelated traffic violations August 11th.
