A Williamson man, who authorities say sexually abused children over the course of thirty years, is headed to prison for life.

Randy Wynne pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of statutory sex offense from the 1980s, one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor from the 1980s, and one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor from 2007.

District Attorney Seth Edwards says the judge was bound by laws in effect at the time the crimes were committed, giving Wynne a life sentence on the sex offense charge.

Edwards says in 2013, a then 20-year-old woman told lawmen she had a lengthy sexual relationship with the man that began when she was 13. At the time Wynne had hired her as a babysitter, according to Edwards.

The D.A. says once the two split up, the woman went to law enforcement who then uncovered numerous other victims, going back to the 1980s.

A man who is now in his 40s told investigators that Wynne touched him inappropriately when he was a youngster. Edwards says the man's willingness to testify may have been the "straw that broke the camel's back" in convincing Wynne to plead guilty.

In addition to the life sentence, the judge gave Wynne additional prison time on the other two charges.
