Marines Safely Return From World Hot Spot

More than 150 Marines based here in Eastern Carolina are back home after a seven month deployment to Afghanistan.

The Marines from Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines were finally back in the arms of their families Friday morning.

Hundreds of family members gathered at Camp Lejeune, holding flags and signs while keeping back tears as their Marines came home safely.

The Marines were stationed at Camp Leatherneck in the Helmand province and were protecting that base from enemy attack.

Another group of Camp Lejeune Marines, also deployed to Afghanistan, is expected to return on Tuesday.
