A Camp Lejeune Marine will spend the next 23 years in prison after admitting he killed a comrade.
Marcus Hunt was a lance corporal when he was arrested back in December 2012.
Both he and the victim, Lance Corporal Randall Buford, were members of 1st Battalion, 8th Marines.
The shooting happened at Liberty Crossing Apartments in Jacksonville. District Attorney Ernie Lee says the two were drinking and got into a fight. He says Hunt shot Buford in the face.
Hunt pleaded guilty to second degree murder Monday morning and was sentenced to serve between 23 and 28 years in prison.
