Man Wanted For Three Armed Robberies Arrested

Police say they've nabbed a repeat armed robber who they say held up the same store twice in just over a week.

Goldsboro police say Samuel Best, Jr. was arrested yesterday evening inside a Wilson motel room after a Crime Stoppers tip. Several special response teams were at the Village Motor Lodge for the arrest.

Best was wanted for the September 28th home invasion on Denmark Street, an armed robbery the next day at the D&C Mini Mart on East Elm Street, and another robbery at the same store that happened Monday night.

He is charged with three counts of armed robbery, two counts of second degree kidnapping, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, four counts of assault by pointing a gun and one count of first degree burglary.

The 33-year-old Best was jailed on a $922,000 secured bond
