Police have arrested one man and are looking for another after a victim was shot, robbed, his girlfriend's home burglarized and her car stolen.
Demar Worrell of Greensboro has been charged with armed robbery, first degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, second degree burglary, larceny of a motor vehicle, and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
Goldsboro police say it all started Monday at a home on South Harding Drive. Demetrius Korneday told police he was approached by two men he knew while outside his girlfriend's home. He says the two robbed him of his cellphone, then shot him before burglarizing the home and stealing the car.
Police saw the car quickly driving away and tried to stop it. Those inside ran away after the car crashed into a tree. Worrell was caught after a brief chase, but the other man got away.
The 34-year-old man was jailed on a $775,000 bond while police continue to search for the accomplice.
