A medical emergency Tuesday night led deputies to discover a working meth lab.
Pamlico County deputies say they responded around 7:00 p.m. to 176 Griffin Lane in Arapahoe and saw drug paraphernalia.
34-year-old Christopher Griffin was taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center, and deputies got a search warrant for the home. They say there was no explosion.
Griffin's grandmother says the meth he was using made him sick and that is why he went to the hospital.
Inside they discovered a small "shake and bake" meth lab.
The State Bureau of Investigation was called in, and Griffin remains in the hospital.
Deputies say charges against the man are pending his release from the hospital and the results of the SBI investigation.
