Authorities have identified a man who died after fire ripped through a mobile home early Tuesday morning.
Onslow County Fire Marshal Brian Kelly says four fire departments were sent just after midnight to a mobile home on Kennys Avenue, that's in the Dixon Estates Mobile Home Park off Highway 17.
Deputies say a mother and her child escaped with only smoke inhalation.
The victim has been identified as Christopher Miller, 35, of Verona.
The man was found in a bedroom, and deputies say it appears Miller died from smoke inhalation.
The SBI has been called in to help investigate the cause.
