A woman is dead and police have charged her husband with her murder.
Rocky Mount police say they were called around 10 p.m. Saturday night to a home on Pintail Lane.
Alia Odeh was injured in an assault, but died from those injuries.
Police say no suspect was at the home when officers arrived, but as investigators began working on the case, the woman's husband, 26-year-old Jihad Hamden, turned himself in at the police department.
He has been charged with first degree murder and is being held without bond at the Nash County jail.
Police say they are still investigating a motive in the case.
