Man Charged For Stalking Estranged Wife Due In Court

The man accused of stalking his estranged wife and secretly videotaping her in her Carteret County bedroom is due in court Tuesday.

Antonio Rodrigues, 60, of New Jersey was arrested in that state by US Marshals and brought back to Carteret County Thursday, according to deputies.

Investigators with the Carteret County Sheriff's Office say Rodrigues put a hidden camera in his estranged wife's bedroom in her Newport home.

The man has been charged with one count of felony stalking, secretly peeping using a photo recording device, and violating a domestic violence protective order.

Rodrigues was put in the Carteret County jail under no bond.

Court calendars show he is due to go before judge on Tuesday.

Carteret County deputies say Antonio Rodrigues of New Jersey was taken into custody by US Marshals in New Jersey on the charges.

Carteret County deputies arrested Rodrigues when he was brought back to North Carolina at 9 p.m. Thursday.

The man has been charged with one count of Felony Stalking, one count of Felony Secretly Peeping using a photo recording device, and one count of Violation of a Domestic Violence Protective Order.

Rodrigues is being held without bond and is scheduled for his first court appearance on Tuesday.
