Man Arrested In Goldsboro Accused Of Burning Body In Florida

A man on probation has been arrested for a 2011 murder of a missing Florida man. Florida lawmen say the victim's body was burned in a backyard fire pit.

Goldsboro police say Daniel Craven, Jr. was nabbed yesterday by their Selective Enforcement Unit.

Police say on Saturday detectives with the Orange County Sheriff's Office contacted them about locating Craven for the April 2011 homicide they were investigating.

Orange County deputies say Ronald Justice was murdered at one home in Apopka, and his body was burned in the fire pit at another home.

Deputies say Justice was not reported missing until more than a year after he was last seen alive, but have not said what a possible motive might be in the homicide.

They say an April search of home homes yielded them evidence, including numerous bone fragments identified as human remains.

Craven was on probation here in North Carolina for a conviction from Florida. Police here confirmed that he was living with a family member on Annabelle Street. Around 1:30 p.m. Officers spotted the man walking on North Slocumb Street where he was arrested.

The 27-year-old Craven was placed in jail without bond and has his first court appearance on Monday.
