Man Arrested After Running From New Bern Police

A local man is waking up in jail this morning after police say they had to chase him through a subdivision.

Police arrested 38-year-old Edwaun Gibbs, according to the New Bern Sun Journal. Police got a call to Gibbs' girlfriend's home to check on her welfare and once police saw Gibb's vehicle, they found out he was wanted on several warrants out of New Bern. Investigators say Gibbs then took off, and after a chase both in the car and on foot, he was arrested.

Gibbs is now facing multiple charges including felony breaking and entering, felony common law robbery, and felony second-degree kidnapping; his bond set at $102,000.
