MCAS Cherry Point Air Show Takes To The Skies

Plug your ears, slather on some sunscreen, and get ready for the MCAS Cherry Point Air Show, taking to the skies starting Friday.

The MCAS Cherry Point 2014 Air Show, Inspiration to Innovation takes off Friday through Sunday in Havelock.

This year's show will feature performances from the Black Diamond Jet Team, the Joint Strike Fighter, Radio Active and more, including fireworks and live music.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday with aircraft taking flight between 6:45 p.m. through 10 p.m.

The show continues Saturday and Sunday with gates opening at 8 a.m. and flying from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Revised Air Show Schedule

Gates will open to the public May 16 at 5 p.m for the Friday nighttime show. Performances will begin at 6:50 p.m. and continue through the evening until the fireworks finale around 10 p.m. The updated Friday performance schedule is as follows:

Gates will open to the public May 17 and 18 at 8 a.m. for both the Saturday and Sunday daytime shows. Performances will begin at 10 a.m. and end around 4 p.m. after the F-35B Lightning II (Joint Strike Fighter) demonstration. The updated Saturday and Sunday performance schedule is as follows:
