A Flood Watch will remain in effect through 6pm for areas of inland Eastern North Carolina including Williamston, Greenville, Kinston, Kenansville, and points west.

Periods of showers and storms with locally heavy rain will continue across eastern Carolina through Wednesday. As much as 1 to 2 additional inches of rain will fall in some locations over the next 48 hours. With the already saturated grounds, flooding will remain a risk for the next few days. Creeks and streams, along with low lying areas will be at the greatest risk for flooding. Remember, if you see water running over the water....."Turn Around, Don't Drown".

The pattern will finally turn drier by Thursday, just in time for the holiday weekend. Highs will be in the 80s today and Wednesday with temperatures getting close to 90 Thursday.
