Lenoir County teacher suspended following alleged altercation with student

Lenoir County School District officials say a first year teacher has been suspended with pay after an alleged altercation with a student.

Lenoir County Schools spokesman Patrick Holmes says it reportedly happened Wednesday at E.B. Frink Middle School in La Grange.

The teacher has been identified as Randy Brown.

The school's website says Brown is an eighth grade science teacher at Frink.

Sheriff Ronnie Ingram says they are investigating to see if the student's parents want to press charges or not.

At this time, officials have not said what happened during the alleged incident.
