Lenoir County Man Breaks Into Senior Living Center

A Lenoir County man is accused of breaking into a senior living center Friday and firing shots into a door while looking for a staff member.

According to WRAL 27-year-old Waylon Thompson of La Grange has been arrested and charged with breaking and entering, firing into an occupied structure, domestic assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities told WRAL that Thompson broke the glass of the Emeritus at the Pines senior living center in Goldsboro. They say he was looking for his ex-girlfriend, who is a staff member.

Authorities responded to the call, but Thompson left the facility before they arrived.

No one was injured in the incident.

Thompson was later arrested at his home. He was placed in jail under a $60,000 secured bond.
