Lejeune Marines and Harley Davidson Ride Against Alcohol Abuse

By  |

Camp Lejeune and North Carolina coastal communities are joining forces for a motorcycle ride to combat alcohol abuse.

The Marine Corps says the event is scheduled for Friday at the New River Harley Davidson off U.S. Highway 17. The formal ride starts at 10 a.m. Riders are traveling in and around the city of Jacksonville.

Marines from the region are partnering with the Coastal Coalition for Substance Abuse Prevention in an attempt to reduce alcohol related deaths and injuries.

Participants want to bring attention to the fact that responsible use of alcohol can be part of many safe and enjoyable events if used in moderation.
