LAWMEN: Woman Bit Deputy On Face, Spit On Deputies

A woman is facing charges after authorities say she was found with drugs, bit a deputy on the face and spit on deputies.

Ashley Couch, age 25 of North Boyd Road in Castlewood, Virginia, was arrested in Beaufort County Tuesday, around midnight.

Authorities report they responded to a vehicle accident and possible domestic assault on Old Blounts Creek Road in Chocowinity and took Couch into custody because they suspected she was driving while impaired.

They say Couch tried to damage the inside of the trooper's vehicle and when she was moved to a deputy vehicle with a prisoner barricade, she began to spit on the deputies.

Lawmen say they found the drugs in her wrecked vehicle. Couch was taken to the hospital for blood tests to determine if she was drunk or on illegal drugs. Lawmen say after the procedure, Couch was being put into a car when she bit a deputy on his face and continued to spit.

Couch was locked up under a $42,000 secured bond.
