Police say a man accused of shooting a seven year old last week is now behind bars.
Kinston police say Simeon Meadows is in the Lenoir County jail after turning himself into police Wednesday morning.
He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Police say they received the shots fired call Friday evening at the Richard Green Apartments on East Bright Street.
The child suffered what appeared to be a graze wound from the shooting and has since been released from the hospital.
Bond for Meadows was set at $150,000.
A seven year old is recovering after police say the child was grazed by a bullet. Police are now looking for the person who they say did it.

Police have an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Simeon Meadows. They say Meadows is considered armed and dangerous.
He faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serous injury and secret assault. Meadows is accused of firing at least one gunshot from a vehicle in the densely populated residential area.
Police say the seven year old is suffering what appears to be a graze wound from the shooting. that child was taken to the hospital, treated and released. Meadows is currently on pretrial release for multiple drug related charges and is due in Lenoir county district court on July 14.

Kinston Police Commander Russell says the call to Richard Green Apartments on E. Bright Street came in just after 6:00 Friday night.
Police say the 7-year-old victim is suffering from what appears to be a graze wound. Russell believes they were taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Details are few, but police say they are searching for a person of interest.
