Kinston PBS Show Finalist For James Beard Award

Kinston's Vivian Howard is a finalist in this year's James Beard Foundation Awards.

The equivalent to a restaurant "Oscar", the top honors will be given out in New York City in May.

Howard is a finalist for her PBS show "A Chef's Life", which aired its first season this past fall.

She's up against two other PBS shows in the category "Television Program, on Location".

The series focuses on Howard and her husband who left the big city to open up "Chef & The Farmer" in Kinston.
