Kinston police said a 25-year-old was carted off to jail for allegedly strangling his mother, but not before kicking the glass out of a patrol car window.
Kinston Police told WITN they got a call of a domestic disturbance shortly after midnight Wednesday night in the 800-block of North McLewean Street
Officers said the victim told them her son, Trudell Hamilton, had been strangling her.
Once the 25-year-old was in handcuffs and placed in the back of a patrol car, police said he managed to kick out the glass of a patrol vehicle window.
Jail records show Hamilton is now in the Lenoir County jail.
Police said he was charged with felony assault by strangulation and injury to personal property.
Court records show Hamilton is due in court for those charges June 25th.
