Kids Learn About Aviation & More During Field Trip

Eighth graders from C.M. Eppes middle school in Greenville got a first hand look at the aviation industry Wednesday morning.

The aviation career event took place at the Pitt-Greenville airport and included speakers from pilots to first responders and members of the military.

In addition to teaching the students about aviation as a career, the speakers took the opportunity to focus on life skills and encouraging kids to pursue higher education.

This is the first career workshop of its kind and it will continue tomorrow with 8th graders from Wellcome middle school.

Organizers have already been thinking about ideas to expand the event next year.
