Job Fair In Jacksonville Targets Veterans

By  |

This week is North Carolina Employ A Veteran Week, and some local businesses are looking to do just that.

The Onslow County Career Center held a job fair Thursday at the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 16 office on Sherwood Road in Jacksonville. More than 40 employers were on site ready to take resumes and talk with prospective employees.

The event was exclusively open to veterans and others deemed eligible by the organization for one hour in the morning. By 10 a.m, the job fair opened to all job seekers.

The job fair also featured workshops for resumes, interview skills, and even dressing/clothing guidelines for those looking for a new job.
