Police have released few details in an early morning shooting in Jacksonville.

The shooting happened shortly after 1:00 a.m. at 221 Eastwood Drive.

Police said they first received a call from Onslow Memorial Hospital that a man had been shot.

The investigation led them to the home on Eastwood Road.

The 27-year-old victim was transferred to another hospital where he is listed in good condition, according to officers.

One neighbor says she heard four or five gunshots.

A news release didn't say where the person was hit by the gunfire, nor provide any description of those responsible.

Police say the shooting remains under investigation, but wouldn't reveal if there were any suspects.

We are awaiting further information from police as investigators taped off a crime scene in a Jacksonville neighborhood before sunrise Tuesday morning.

Police told WITN's April Davis they got a call at 1:08 Tuesday morning to 221 Eastwood Drive in Jacksonville.

A neighbor said she heard several gunshots at that time, then saw a car speeding off from the home.

At this point, officers have only said the incident was not a fatal incident and it is under investigation.

Our April Davis was the only reporter on scene overnight and reported the home is across the street from Jack Amyette Park.

A JPD crime scene unit was parked outside the residence.
