Incoming Lt. Governor Dan Forest names 2 Ex-Myrick Staffers To His Staff

Two of the first three staff members named to work for Republican incoming Lt. Gov. Dan Forest previously worked for his mother, the recently retired U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick.

Forest announced Friday that campaign manager Hal Weatherman will be his chief of staff and develop policy. Weatherman previously served as Myrick's chief of staff. Former Myrick office manager Jamey Falkenbury will become Forest's operations director.

Myrick didn't run for re-election in 2012 after 18 years in the House.
Kelsey Crum also was named the next lieutenant governor's director of constituent services.

Forest is a Raleigh architect elected in November in his first run for political office. He will be sworn in Monday in the old Capitol building and also will participate in next weekend's public inauguration ceremony.
