State House Speaker Thom Tillis embraced the Republican agenda he helped push through North Carolina state government as he filed officially for the U.S. Senate.
It's the same agenda Democratic incumbent Kay Hagan warned against as she filed earlier this week.
Tillis arrived at the State Board of Elections at midday Wednesday to cheers from supporters as he turned in his paperwork and paid the filing fee. He's one of seven now in the Republican primary race. The filing deadline is Friday.
The Cornelius business consultant says he's followed through on promises to voters while in the General Assembly on reducing taxes and regulations. Tillis says Hagan and other people in Washington haven't kept their promises, particularly on the health care law.
