Holly Ridge Man Killed While Walking Across Highway 17

State troopers say a Holly Ridge man was killed while walking across Highway 17 in Pender County Thursday night.

Troopers say the accident happened around 10:40 p.m. on Highway 17, just south of Holly Ridge. They have identified the victim as 33-year-old Philip McConville.

The man was struck by a vehicle driven by Richard Jeske of Lancaster, South Carolina. Troopers say Jeske is not facing any charges.
