One family in the east is really in the Christmas spirit with a display that includes 455,000 lights. That's 5,000 more than last year.

The Hoggard Christmas Wonderland of Lights in Windsor is a past winner of the WITN "Look At Those Lights" contest.

Herman Hoggard says from December first until the 24th, they add something new each day.

For fifteen years, people in the east have made visiting the Hoggard display a holiday tradition.

Charlotte Gilliam of Windsor says, "I love it. I was just telling them how my grandbaby came to see it! I love it."

Herman's brother Therman started the display with an angel, in memory of his daughter Carolyn, after she was killed in an automobile accident when she was just 16 years old. The display has grown ever since.

The Hoggard's say it takes three months to get the display ready.

And while it's free to come and view the lights, their hard work pays off in other ways. Herman says, "It brings joy and smiles to their faces and that's what it's all about. It's a gift that we give, and the community gives back just by enjoying it every time they come through here."

The display at 101 Dalton Drive will stay open until New Year's night, then the Hoggard's will spend the next two months taking everything down.
