NEW INFO: Car Crash Kills Grantsboro Woman

A Grantsboro woman was killed in a crash in Pamlico County Tuesday.

The Highway Patrol says 43-year-old Lena Perez of Grantsboro died after colliding with another vehicle on Highway 306 around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday. Troopers say Perez crossed the center line and collided with 53-year-old Francisco Jiminez of Arapahoe. He was taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern where he was treated and released.

The Highway Patrol says no charges will be filed.

NC Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating a fatal accident from late Tuesday afternoon in Pamlico County.

Troopers say it happened on Highway 306 near Highway 55 in Grantsboro and involved two vehicles.

Highway Patrol says one person is dead and others are injured.

The investigation continues.
