Highway 264 On-Ramp Closed By Overturned 18-Wheeler

An on-ramp to Highway 264 in Pitt County was closed down this morning after an 18-wheeler dump truck flipped over.

It happened around 8:45 a.m. as the truck full of stone was turning off Highway 258 outside of Farmville. The truck landed on its side, spilling its load onto the grass right-of-way.

The west-bound on-ramp to Highway 264 was closed as crews cleaned up the mess. A large wrecker was used to flip the 18-wheeler back over onto its wheels.

Troopers say the driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
