DOT: High Water Causes Duplin Co. Road Closure Through Next Week

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says Iron Mine Road is shut down in both directions in Duplin County just west of Wallace and has been since Wednesday due to high water from heavy rains.

The DOT does not expect the flooding to recede until next Friday July 12th. The road is closed about .8 miles from the intersection of Highway 41.

The N.C. Department of Transportation said high water on some Duplin County roads prompted closures through Wednesday.

The DOT said Rosemary Road between Bay and Harrell Roads was closed late Monday night about 11:45 p.m. due to high water and is expected to reopen Wednesday about 5:00 p.m.

East Railroad Street near the Duplin and Pender counties line was shut down for floodng Tuesday morning and the DOT expects it to reopen Wednesday by noon.

The DOT says H C Powers Road in Duplin County from NC 41 at the bridge was flooded for about a mile Monday morning and is expected to reopen Wednesday about noon.

Flood waters cut off access to the Rockfish Country Club outside of Wallace.
