Henderson County Deputy Charged With Sex Offense With A Student

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office says a deputy assigned to work at a school faces three felony counts of sex offense with a student.

Chief Deputy Frank Stout said in a news release that 27-year-old Deputy Daniel Lindsey was arrested early Saturday at his home in Mountain Home. Lindsey worked as a school resource officer at the Balfour Education Center. Students who don't succeed in a traditional classroom setting attend the center.

Stout says the sheriff's office began investigating as soon as it learned of the allegations Friday evening. He says Lindsey was fired when he was arrested.

Lindsey was being held under $45,000 bond at the Transylvania County Sheriff's Office. It wasn't known if he has an attorney.

He had been employed at the sheriff's office since September 2008.
