Helping Homeless Veterans In Onslow County

Homeless Veterans in Onslow County got some extra help from the community Tuesday.

The "Veteran's Stand Down" gave homeless vets access to free hair cuts, shaves, showers and food.

The Onslow County Job Link veterans unit teamed up with 50 different local, state and federal agencies, faith based organizations, and locals businesses.

Veterans were also able to get some information about getting help with mental health, where to get free teeth cleanings, and were given free flu shots.

This was the third year for the event at the American Legion in Jacksonville.
