Hatteras Island Residents Get Priority Boarding On Emergency Ferry

Hatteras Island residents will be given priority boarding on the ferry service between Stumpy Point and Rodanthe starting Monday.

The priority boarding will be done Monday through Friday. A driver's license with a Hatteras Island address is needed.

According to a news release, "the weekday priority will be given to residents boarding on either side of the emergency ferry route behind vehicles with essential commodities, recovery supplies, and those with medical priorities, as determined by Dare County Emergency Management and NCDOT."
