Officials say a habitual felon is headed to prison for at least 1 year, 8 months , and up to nearly 3 years after being convicted on drug charges in Carteret County.
47-year-old Cherri Queen of Wilmington was convicted in Carteret County court this week.
District Attorney Scott Thomas says she was stopped last March in Cape Carteret because of fictitious tags on her vehicle. That's when police say they discovered crack cocaine, heroin, and marijuana in her car.
Queen had already been convicted of other felonies. Another person in the car was also charged with drug possession and being an habitual felon, and is due in court next month.
