HIGHWAY PATROL: Turkey Truck Turns Over, Traffic Detoured

By  |

The Highway Patrol says traffic will be detoured around NC-403 in Duplin County until roughly 9 a.m. after a turkey truck overturned.

Trooper P. Howard tells WITN around 1 a.m., 25-year-old Sean Daniels of Arkansas was likely not paying attention at a curve and drove his tractor trailer into a ditch.

The Carolina Cargo company Inc. truck flipped on its side, and the driver was not injured.

Trpr. Howard said the truck was hauling frozen turkeys from Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Traffic will be detoured off NC 403 in both directions near Garner Chapel Road in Faison until roughly 9 a.m.

Daniels will be charged with failure to maintain lane control.

Trpr. Howard said the turkeys were taken off the truck and shipped back to Rock Hill for inspection.
