Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel visited Camp Lejeune to thank Marines and their family members for their service and discuss the Pentagon's fiscal belt tightening.
Hagel first stopped at the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command Wednesday as part of his three-day visit to military installations along the East Coast. He visited Fort Bragg Monday and is stopping at Joint Base Charleston in South Caroling prior to coming to Camp Lejeune.
Hagel met with service members and take their questions about the recent furloughs of Pentagon employees and the ongoing budget cuts.
On Wednesday, Hagel also visited the Marine Corps infantry school, the Marine Corps Air Station at New River and visited with female Marines.
