Warrants Say Qur'an, Other Muslim Material Seized From Shooting Suspect's Apartment

Recently released court documents say police seized a Qur'an and other material on the Muslim religion from Lakim Faust's apartment.

Faust is the Greenville man who is accused of going on a shooting spree last month, wounding three men at a Walmart and another man outside a neighboring law office.

Greenville police searched Faust's Hartford Street apartment on June 21st.

Seized in the search were several books, including The Holy Qur'an, Bloodlines of the Illuminati, On Being A Muslim, Umar (volume 1 & 2), and Fortress of the Muslim.

Police also confiscated over 122 shotgun shells, an envelope containing HealthyMuslim.com documents and a business card from a Greenville psychiatrist.

Faust was moved on Friday to Central Prison's hospital after being treated at Vidant Medical Center. Greenville police shot the man several times after they confronted him on Hooker Road.

Faust is charged with four counts of attempted first degree murder and is held on a $6 million.

The man accused of going on a shooting spree last month in Greenville is now in a state prison hospital in Raleigh.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety confirms that Lakim Faust was moved to Central Prison on July 5th. Pitt County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Christy Wallace says Faust is in the prison's hospital.

Greenville Police shot Faust after they say he went on a shooting spree back on June 21st. Officials say Faust shot one person in the parking lot of the Kellum Law Firm then walked across Greenville Boulevard and shot 3 more in the Walmart Shopping Center parking lot.

The man had been at Vidant Medical Center and was arraigned in his hospital room a couple of days after the shootings.

Records show Lakim Faust is being held on a $6,000,000 bond and is charged with 4 felony counts of attempted first degree murder.
