FIRST ON WITN: Teen Rape Suspect Surrenders In Greenville

A Kinston man police say raped a Greenville teenager is behind bars after turning himself in overnight.

Magarrett Govan, 36, of Kinston, surrendered to law enforcement and was booked in the Pitt County Detention Center early Friday.

Greenville police believe Govan raped a 15 year old girl last month, and Govan is said to be a friend of the victim's family.

Govan faces four counts of statutory rape. His bond is set at $2 million.

Police are looking for a Kinston man who is wanted for raping a teenager in Greenville at her home.

Magarrett Govan is believed to be staying somewhere in Greenville, possibly with friends who may be hiding him from authorities, according to police.

The 36-year-old man is wanted for the statutory rapes that happened last month. The victim is 15-years-old and Govan was reported to be a friend of her family.
