Police continue their search for an armed gunman who they say jumped the counter at a convenience store, demanding cash Thursday night.
Greenville Police said around 9:45 pm, a man entered the City Gas store on North Greene Street with a handgun and jumped the counter, demanding money.
Police said a canine search lead them toward Jolly's Pawn Shop where investigators think the suspect had a get-away car parked.
The suspect is described as a black man weighing nearly 200 pounds, standing 5'8" tall. Police said the gunman had a white t-shirt over his face, but had green or hazel colored eyes.
Greenville Police were looking for a suspect after a robbery was reported at 9:48 p.m. Thursday at City Gas convenience store at 1799 North Greene Street off Belvoir Highway near the intersection with Memorial Drive.
Police say no one was hurt.
Witnesses say the suspect had a gun and was wearing a white cloth over his face and a black hat and black shirt. There are also reports he took a gun from the store.
